Mirka Sanding Discs, Pads and Dust Extractors, by Pad Size
The size on your backing pad decides which disc you order. It is printed on the pad itself, not on the machine, so a Festool, a Makita, a DeWalt or a Bosch is read exactly the same way as a Deros.
Mirka sanding discs, pads, interfaces and dust extraction, held at the counter in Ballymount. Order before 12pm Monday to Friday and it usually ships the same working day. Click and collect from Ballymount is always free.
Measure the pad and the first table tells you which pack fits. If you cannot read it, ring the counter on 01 573 3222 and read them out to us.

Match the abrasive to your machine
The diameter is the number that has to match, and that is what the table below is built on. Our net discs have no hole pattern at all, so the hole count never decides the disc. It decides the interface and the pad saver, and that is where our 125mm range holds both a 33 hole and a 44 hole part.
The hole count is printed on the pad. Read it off before you order an interface or a pad saver, or ring it through and we will match it at the counter. Where we know the pattern we give it: the 225mm Leros runs on the 25 hole pattern, which is what our Leros interface and pad saver are made in. One thing that looks wrong and is not: Mirka build the interface and the pad saver with more holes than the pad, so a 67 hole part on a 48 hole pad is correct. The extra holes give the airflow a path whichever way round it goes on.
If you think in inches rather than millimetres: 125mm is the 5 inch size, 150mm is 6 inch and 225mm is 9 inch.
Which grit, and when
Mirka publish their own sequence for walls and ceilings, and it is the sequence this range is stocked to.
| Stage | Grit |
|---|---|
| Proud filler, large patches | P80 |
| Flatten filler, feather the repairs in | P120 |
| Refine | P180 |
| Paint ready key, across the whole surface | P240 |
| De-nib after primer and between topcoats | P320 to P400 |
Mirka keep P80 for filler standing proud or a large patch, not for general work. Always follow what the filler and paint manufacturer specify for their own product. Which formats are ranged in which grits is in the next table, and not every format covers every step.
Two gaps worth knowing about before you order. The 225mm Leros discs stop at P240 and the Abranet Delta discs stop at P240, so neither can give you the P320 de-nib step. The Goldflex Soft hand pads and the Goldflex Soft roll both go to P320 and do that job by hand.

The three Mirka lines we hold, and what each is for
In Mirka's own words, not ours.
Abranet
Mirka's classic net abrasive, developed for sanding putty, primers, lacquers and composite materials. For dry sanding, by hand or by machine. The dust is drawn out through the net rather than trapped under the disc, which keeps the work cleaner and the finish better. It is the line Mirka specify for wall and ceiling work.
Held in 225mm and 125mm discs, 81 x 133mm and 80 x 230mm strips, the 100 x 152 x 152mm Delta size, and 2.5m rolls.
Autonet
A dust-free net abrasive Mirka developed for the automotive refinishing trade. The materials on their own list for it are plastics, primer, paint stripping and removal, paint sanding, plaster and putty, body filler, glass fibre and lacquers.
Held in the two Deros disc sizes, 125mm and 150mm, and ranged up to P500.
Goldflex Soft
Soft and flexible, developed for sanding profiled surfaces and irregular, hard-to-reach details by hand. The foam base spreads the pressure evenly, which is what reduces the risk of sanding through the surface, and the stearate coating keeps it from clogging. It is also the only format here that carries P320 in a hand size.
Held in 115 x 140mm pads in packs of 10, and a 115 x 125mm roll, 25m.
The machines and the dust extractors
Mirka name the DEROS, the long reach LEROS 950CV, the DEOS II 353CV and the DEOS II Delta for wall and ceiling work, with their own extractors pulling the dust through the net. That is the range held here.
The sanders do not come with extraction. A Deros or a Deos needs an extractor and a hose to work dust-free, and they are bought separately. If you are pricing a dust-free setup from scratch, ring the counter and we will tell you what goes with what.
Random orbital sanders: Deros II 650, 150mm, Deros II 550, 125mm, Deros II 5650, 125 and 150mm.
Orbital and delta sanders: Deos II 353, 81 x 133mm, Deos II 663 Delta.
Wall and ceiling: Leros 950CV 225mm kit.
Hand sanding: Handy sanding block with extraction, DecoSander, Mini File.
Dust extractors: Dust Extractor 1230 L AFC Automatic 230V. The larger 30L DEXOS 1230 M AFC units are not listed on the site, so ring the counter on 01 573 3222 for those.
Hoses and bags: Hose with connector, 27mm x 4m, Hose for hand sanding blocks, 20mm x 4m, Fleece dust bags for the 30L extractor, Fleece dust bags for the 1230.
Storage: Mirka Stackable Case, 400 x 300 x 158mm.
Questions we get at the counter
Will Mirka discs fit my Festool or Makita sander?
Mirka abrasives are sold by size, not by machine brand. There is no such thing as a Mirka only pad size. If the diameter matches your backing pad, the disc fits. Take the old disc off, measure the pad across the face in millimetres, then order that diameter from the table above. For an interface or a pad saver, count the holes on the pad as well and we will match the pattern. If the pad is too worn to read, bring it or the machine into Ballymount and we will match it.
What is the difference between Abranet and Autonet?
Both are Mirka net abrasives, so both pull the dust out through the disc. Abranet is the general one, developed for putty, primers, lacquers and composites, and it is what Mirka specify for wall and ceiling work. Autonet was developed for automotive refinishing, and their materials list for it covers primer, filler, plaster, paint sanding and lacquers. We hold Autonet in the two Deros disc sizes and it runs to finer grits, up to P500.
Is this plain Abranet, or Abranet Ace?
Everything listed on this page is plain Abranet, Autonet or Goldflex Soft. Mirka make other Abranet variants for other trades, and we do not hold them. If a specification or a site foreman has named a particular variant, read the exact name out to us on 01 573 3222 before you order rather than assuming the plain disc is the same thing.
