Mirka Interface 125mm - 33 Hole (1 Pack)

A flat pad on a curved surface touches it in one line. An interface is the foam cushion that makes the abrasive follow the shape instead.

The Mirka Interface 125mm 33 Hole goes between the backing pad and a Grip abrasive on a 125mm machine. Mirka's own purpose for it is sanding rounded surfaces and contours, and they note it gives a softer result than sanding without one. Single pad, in a choice of two thicknesses.

5mm or 10mm

The thicker the foam, the more it conforms and the softer it cuts.

• 5mm: a gentle softening. Enough for a shallow curve, a rounded edge, or just taking the bite off a flat pass on thin paint.
• 10mm: proper conforming, for a tighter radius like a handrail or a bullnose. It also removes less, because more of your pressure goes into compressing foam.

33 hole is the one for the pad we sell

The holes have to let air through to the pad behind. Mirka list the 33 hole interface against the 125mm 28 hole backing pad, which is the 125mm pad we stock, so this is the pattern to pick unless you know your pad is different. We also carry a 44 hole version for other 125mm pads.

Not a pad saver

A pad saver is a thin 3mm disc whose job is to wear out instead of your backing pad. This is foam, and its job is to change how the tool cuts. If you want to protect the pad, buy the pad saver.
