No wall is flat. Plaster rolls, boards meet at a slight step, and a 225mm head run dry on a long pole will find every one of them and leave a mark where it caught.
The Mirka Leros Interface 225mm 25H 5mm is the foam layer that goes between the Leros head and the disc so the head can ride those changes instead of digging into them. 25 hole pattern, which is the Leros pattern, and it is Mirka's own part for that machine.
Why it matters more on a wall sander than anywhere else
On a hand held sander you feel the surface through the tool and you correct without thinking. On a pole at full stretch above your head you do not, so the head needs to be forgiving on its own account. That is the job this does: it spreads the pressure out from the rim of the pad and lets the disc meet the wall flat even when your angle is not quite right.
And the one it is not
The Leros pad saver uses the same 25 hole pattern and sits in the same place, but it is a thin sacrificial layer for protecting the backing pad, not a cushion. If the problem is that your pad is wearing out, buy the pad saver. If the problem is marks on the wall, buy this.
