Mirka Deos Backing Pad 81 x 133mm - Grip
The backing pad is the part that wears out quietly. Once the hook and loop stops holding, the abrasive creeps under load and the sanding pattern goes with it.
The Mirka Deos Backing Pad 81 x 133mm is the replacement net Grip pad for the DEOS machines that run the 81 by 133mm plate, on Mirka's 46 hole extraction pattern. It is the pad the DEOS 353 leaves the factory with, Mirka code 8292353011.
Which DEOS it fits
Not every DEOS takes this pad. The 81 by 133mm rectangular plate is the DEOS 353. The DEOS 663 is a delta at 100 by 152 by 152mm and takes its own pad, which is a different shape entirely. Match the pad to the plate size printed on your machine rather than to the model family.
Make it last
Most pads are replaced early because the hook and loop has been worn off by the abrasive rather than because the pad itself has failed. A pad saver fitted between the pad and the disc takes that wear instead, and Mirka make both a pad saver and an interface in 81 by 133mm. Both are 54 hole, which is more holes than this pad has, and that is deliberate: the accessory carries extra holes so the airflow finds a path whichever way round it goes on. If you are buying pads often, that is usually the reason.
