Juno Dynamol Quick-Drying Chlorinated Rubber Paint

Chlorinated rubber coating for floors, ground markings and exposed metalwork that has to put up with chemicals and industrial atmospheres.

Juno Dynamol chlorinated rubber paint is stocked in 0.75L, 4L and 15L, satin finish, interior and exterior. Coverage is 8 m²/L per coat and Juno asks for a minimum of two coats, so a 15L tin is about 120 m² in one coat or 60 m² finished.

Where it works

• Exterior ground surfaces: signalling, garages, parking and sports facilities.
• Industrial atmospheres: fertiliser plants, plating shops, paper mills, breweries, dairies and mining.
• Masonry and cold rooms: buildings under high humidity and condensation.
• Chemical storage tanks: exterior only.

Maximum continuous service temperature is 60°C dry. Water must never be left standing on the film. Not for tar or bituminous asphalt, because of bleeding.

Priming and slip rating

On metal it is not a direct-to-substrate paint. Prime first.

• Iron and steel: grease, rust and scale off, then Multisupport primer (27.040).
• Aluminium and galvanised: degrease and de-rust, then Dynapok primer (22.722) or Multisupport (27.040).

Class 3 anti-slip is certified only with anti-slip microbeads mixed in, not as supplied. Where a slip rating is specified, that additive is a separate item to order and cost.

Drying and recoating

• Touch dry in 1 hour.
• Minimum 24 hours between coats, so a two-coat floor is a two-day job.
• No maximum recoat time: the first coat can stand as long as you need. Over an existing paint, check it is compatible with chlorinated rubber first.

Application conditions

• Above 10°C: through application and the whole cure.
• Substrate at least 3°C above dew point: no condensation, rain or strong wind.
• Relative humidity 80% maximum, and no rising damp.
• Concrete below 4% moisture at 2cm depth, and 15 kg/cm² minimum tensile strength.
• At least 24 hours protected from water: keep humidity, condensation and water off the fresh film.
• 7 days out of service: tracks and sports courts cannot be used for 7 days after application.

Working with it

Brush, roller or spray, onto a firm, dry, clean surface free of efflorescence and mould. Stir until homogeneous. Thin with D-40 solvent, 10 to 15% for spray.

Juno prefers the first coat by brush, to help it penetrate. Where the preparation is in doubt, put a 1 m² test area on and let it dry before committing the floor.
