Indoor car park, garage and workshop floors need a hard, chemically resistant coating. Juno Junopoxi 2K Epoxy Concrete Floor & Metal Paint is the two-component gloss enamel for those, and for laboratory, chemical, pharmaceutical, refinery and electroplating floors that take chemical attack and hard cleaning. Stocked in 4L and 15L, tinted on the Junomatic system to any RAL or NCS colour.
Mixing and coats
- Ratio: 2.27 parts A to 1 part B by volume. Measure it; off-ratio epoxy never fully cures.
- Method: stir A, add B slowly at low revs, then stir two minutes.
- Induction time: 30 minutes before applying.
- Pot life: 8 hours, shorter in warm conditions.
Two coats is the normal spec. Thin the first 15% with Juno D-90 solvent (product code 50.010). Second coat 5% maximum by roller or brush; spraying takes 10 to 15% D-90. A third coat where maximum physical or chemical resistance is needed. Touch dry in 5 to 6 hours, but leave 12 hours minimum between coats and recoat inside 3 days.
Coverage is 9 to 10 m²/L per coat at 50 dry microns, so budget 4.5 to 5 m² per litre of mixed paint for the usual two coats at 100 dry microns. Lay a test patch of about 1m² first; porosity decides the thinning.
Conditions it has to go on in
- Above 15°C: through application and the whole cure.
- Relative humidity 65% or lower: during application and curing.
- Substrate at least 3°C above dew point, and no condensation.
- No rain or strong wind: wait it out.
- Slab moisture 4% maximum: measured at 2 cm depth, with no upward humidity.
- New concrete set a minimum of one month, and completely dry.
- Polished or smooth concrete opened up: sand or grind it, or prime with Juno Imprimax 2/C primer (product code 48725).
- Bare metal primed first: clean and free of grease, rust and calamine, then Juno Dynapok 2C primer (product code 22.722), Junopoxi 24 hours later.

What it will not do
It carries no slip rating on its own. The film is a smooth gloss and slippery when wet. Class 3, certified to UNE-ENV 12633 Annex A, is reached only with Juno Anti-Slip Microbeads (product code 07250) mixed in, a separate purchase. It is not recommended over asphalt, tar or bitumen-treated surfaces.
It is interior only, not for boats, exterior metalwork or open yards. Full cure to maximum resistance takes 7 days and the floor must not be used before then, a week out of service.
