Juno Dynapok Epoxin is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy for jobs where an ordinary floor paint isn't acceptable — food production areas, breweries and dairies, and the interior lining of concrete or new steel tanks and silos holding potable water.
It carries hygiene certification for potable water contact. That is the reason to specify it; a standard epoxy floor coating will not do this work, however tough it is.
Key figures
- 100% solids, solvent-free. Nothing evaporates out of the film, so the thickness you apply is the thickness you keep.
- Coverage: around 4 m² per litre at 250 microns.
- Finish: gloss.
- Dry: under 6 hours. Recoat: 12–24 hours.
- Pot life: Juno quote approximately 25 minutes once A and B are combined.
Plan around the pot life
Twenty-five minutes is short. Mix only what you can lay down inside that window, have the surface fully prepared and every tool to hand before the components go together, and don't stop halfway. A batch that goes off in the bucket is gone — there's no thinning it back.
Surface preparation
Steel needs abrasive blasting to Sa 2½–3 with a minimum 50 micron profile. Concrete must be fully cured — a month at minimum — dry and structurally sound. On a coating that relies on mechanical key, preparation is not the step to compress.
Apply undiluted by brush or trowel. Work above 15°C with relative humidity below 65%; outside those conditions the cure is compromised.
