Concrete indoors, in a garage, an industrial building or a car park, takes tyres, spills and washdown, and a bare slab dusts and stains under it.
Dynapok Agua 2K Water-based Floor Epoxy is Juno's two-pack epoxy for that floor: a satin film thinned and washed up with water, bought for its chemical resistance and hardness. Stocked in 4L and 15L.
Coverage and the times that govern the job
- 8 m²/L at 70 microns dry film: that is one coat, and the spec is two.
- Touch-dry 6 to 8 hours: dry to the touch, not cured.
- Recoat 24 hours to 3 days, and past 72 hours it needs a light sanding or the next coat will not bond.
- Pot life 60 minutes: mix only what you can lay inside the hour.
Mixing, then two coats both thinned
Mix 4 parts A to 1 part B by volume, stirring B in slowly for two minutes, then wait for the bubbles to clear. Juno specifies thinning for both coats: first coat 15% with water, second coat 10%. A third coat goes on where the floor needs maximum chemical resistance.
What it goes over, and what each substrate needs first
- Concrete: a newly laid slab must be completely set, minimum one month, however dry it looks.
- Metal: not a direct-to-metal coating. Free of grease and rust, primed with Dynapok Primer (code 22.722), epoxy on 24 hours after the primer.
- Asphalt and bituminous surfaces: asphalt must be clean, and Juno recommends 15 days after laying; a bituminous surface must not be glossy.
If the floor is specified to a slip class
Dynapok Agua on its own carries no slip class. Class 3 to UNE-ENV 12633 Annex A is granted two ways only: finished with Juno Anti-Slip Microbeads (code 07250), or with 0.3 mm aggregate broadcast into the coating, a separate purchase either way.
Conditions it has to be applied and cured in
- Above 15°C: through application and the whole cure.
- Relative humidity 75% maximum: above that the film will not form correctly, so ventilate a closed space.
- Surface at least 3°C above dew point: a cold slab can be under dew point while the air reads fine.
- Slab moisture 4% maximum: measure it before ordering, and rule out rising damp.
- Water off it for at least the first 24 hours: condensation and standing water too.
Keep vehicles off it for a week after the last coat.
