Boldrini Roller Frame 5cm

The Boldrini Roller Frame 5cm is the frame from Boldrini's small plaster roller — the part you keep when the sleeve is finished. It carries Boldrini's 2 inch (5cm) plaster and filler roller sleeves.

This is not a paint roller frame. The sleeve that goes on it is a structural nylon roller built to carry filler and jointing compound, not paint.

What the system does

A plaster roller lays compound onto a plasterboard joint faster and more evenly than a knife, and you flatten and finish behind it with a spatula. At 2 inch this is the seam width — the first coat, straight down the tape line, and into the narrow joints a wide roller cannot follow.

Why the frame is sold on its own

• Sleeves are consumable. Nylon fibre working in filler has a life; the frame outlasts several of them.
• A second frame saves a wash-out when you change compound partway through a run.
• Replacement for one that has set solid because a sleeve was left on it overnight.

Working with it

Wash it out the moment you stop. Filler cures on a frame far faster than paint does, and a bow with compound set into it never takes a sleeve cleanly again. That is what kills most plaster roller frames, not wear.
