The eight

• Chisel edge — lifting loose paint, and cutting out a crack before filling it.
• Large roller cleaner — the curved cut-out that scrapes a full-size sleeve out before washing.
• Mini roller cleaner — a second, smaller radius for 4 inch sleeves.
• Paint can opener — the notch that levers a lid without deforming the rim.
• Scraping edge for general removal work.
• Crevice tool for cleaning out corners and mitre joints.
• Hammer end on the handle butt, for tapping nails below the surface and knocking lids back on.
• Nail puller for pulling picture pins and panel nails before you fill.

Build

Stiff stainless steel blade. The stiffness matters here, because a multi-tool spends most of its life scraping and levering rather than spreading — flex would work against every one of those eight functions. Stainless also means it survives living in a wet bucket. The handle carries a non-slip comfort grip.

One small thing worth the price on its own: the can opener notch. Levering lids with a screwdriver deforms the rim, which is how tins stop sealing and how half a tin of paint skins over between visits.
