Renner Premium YO-20-C762 WB Polyurethane Furniture Topcoat

Renner YO-20-C762 is a pigmented, water-based polyurethane and acrylic topcoat for interior furniture and joinery, sprayed straight from the tin with no dilution or mixing. The number in the code is the sheen — this is the 20 gloss, a semi-matt finish. If you want it flatter, the same coating is stocked as YO-10-C762 at 10 gloss.

Where it is used. Flat and turned parts, profiles, picture frames, skirting, doors, panels, chairs and cabinet work — anywhere you need a hard, colour-stable finish. The polyurethane and acrylic resins are non-yellowing, which matters most on whites and pale colours, where a solvent lacquer will go creamy within a year or two.

What it goes over. Water-based, polyester and UV basecoats. Overcoating nitrocellulose or PU basecoats is not recommended — adhesion is unreliable and the finish can lift.

Single pack or two pack. On its own it is a ready-to-use 1K topcoat. Adding the YC-M407 crosslinker at roughly 0.5–1% makes it a 2K system and noticeably improves chemical resistance and stacking hardness — worth doing on kitchen doors, tabletops and anything that gets packed or stacked before it is fully hard.

Drying: touch dry in about 45 minutes, ready to handle in about 1.5 hours.

Application: low pressure spray, airless, or airmix (airless with air supply).

Also worth knowing: formaldehyde-free, and compliant with the children's toy standard UNI EN 71-3:2019. Cleans up with water. Supplied in 5kg tintable bases. Always observe the danger labels on the packaging.
