Mirka Interface 125mm 44H (5 Pack)

Mirka make their 125mm interfaces in two hole patterns, and the one you need is decided by the backing pad on your machine, not by the sander.

The Mirka Interface 125mm 44H is the 44 hole pattern, in a five pack, in 5mm or 10mm foam. Like any interface it sits between the pad and a Grip abrasive to let the abrasive follow a curve, and Mirka's own line is that it gives a softer result than sanding without one.

Check your pad before you order this

This is the part worth two minutes. Count the holes on your backing pad, or read the code off it. Mirka list the 33 hole interface against the 125mm 28 hole pad, which is the 125mm pad we stock, so if that is the pad on your machine the 33 hole version is the one you want and we sell that too. The 44 hole pattern is for other 125mm pads in Mirka's range.

What the foam does

It conforms. On a rounded edge, a handrail or a moulded panel, a bare pad rides the high point and a cushioned one follows the profile. 10mm conforms more than 5mm and cuts less for the same pressure, because some of your effort goes into squashing the foam rather than into the surface.

Not a pad saver

Different part. A pad saver is a thin 3mm layer that protects the backing pad from wear and is meant to be thrown away regularly. An interface is thicker foam for changing the cut. Buying one when you wanted the other is the usual mistake here.
