Decotric Power Glass Adhesive 500g
Overcoatable wallpaper is hung to be painted, so the hanging has to be right first: butted seams, pressed down evenly, no air trapped behind the strip.
The Decotric Power Glass Adhesive 500g is the powder paste for that work, mixed up with cold water on site. The base is methyl cellulose, starch ether and a synthetic resin powder, and it carries a PVA polymer for high moisture resistance, so Decotric rate it for damp rooms as well. It dries to a transparent finish.
What it hangs
- Heavy and overcoatable wallpapers: woodchip and other paintable papers.
- Renovation and reinforcing non-wovens: lining fleeces hung to be painted over.
- Glassfibre wallpapers: woven glass cloth.
- Non-woven wallpapers: fleece-backed rather than paper-backed coverings.
Mixing and coverage
Sprinkle the whole 500g pack into 7.5 litres of cold clean water while stirring vigorously, stir briefly, then leave it 20 minutes and beat the mix through again. That second beating is the step most people skip, and it is what clears the lumps. One pack makes up enough for roughly 45 m².
Putting it on
Brush or machine-paste the back of the covering and give it the soaking time the wallpaper maker specifies, not a time of Decotric's own. For wall-pasting instead, apply generously across the strip width with a short-pile lambskin roller or spray equipment and lay the covering into the adhesive bed.
Limits
Wall-pasting suits only dimensionally stable coverings that need no softening time. Do not use the paste when the building fabric or room temperature is below +5 degrees C. The wall must be dry, solid, level and uniformly absorbent with the old paper off, and Decotric call for a friable or chalking surface to be primed first.
