Barrettine Peelaway 1 Spare Blankets (10 Pack)

The blanket isn't packaging — it's half of how Peelaway works. Left uncovered, the poultice dries out within a few hours and stops stripping. With the blanket in place, the paste stays active long enough to soften every layer down to the substrate.

This is a pack of ten 1m × 1m laminated blankets for use with Peelaway 1.

Why you run out of blankets before paste

Blanket use rarely matches paste use. Detail work eats them: stair spindles, balustrades, panelled doors, cornice and mouldings all need blankets cut down and overlapped to follow the shape, and every offcut is a blanket you can't use again. A tub of paste that would comfortably cover a flat wall can easily outlast the blankets packed with it once you're working around detail.

Using them

• Lay the blanket printed side out, directly onto freshly applied poultice.
• Rub gently to push out trapped air, piercing any large bubbles — air pockets are dead spots where no stripping happens.
• Cut and overlap around mouldings and turned sections so the paste stays fully covered right to its edges.
• Leave for the full dwell time, then ease a spatula underneath and lift paste, paint and blanket away together.

Keeping a spare pack on site is worth the money. Running out mid-strip leaves you either covering nothing — where the poultice dries, hardens and becomes far harder to remove than the paint was — or stopping the job.
