Wooster Gold Edge Firm Thin Angle Sash Paint Brushes

Some jobs aren't about technique at all — they're about whether the brush physically fits. Glazing bars, narrow beads, sash window rebates, the gap between a radiator bracket and the wall. A standard brush is simply too thick in the stock to get in there.

This is the thin stock version of the Gold Edge: same firm CT polyester filament, same angled tip, in a deliberately slim profile.

What "thin" changes

The filament block is shallower front to back, and that does two things. It fits into narrow spaces. And it holds less paint — which is exactly what you want on fine work, where a fully loaded brush floods the detail and runs down the glass.

The trade-off is obvious: you'll reload more often. On a run of glazing bars that's a fair swap for not spending the afternoon scraping windows.

Where it's used

• Glazing bars and window rebates — the job it exists for.
• Beading and narrow mouldings, where a standard brush overshoots onto the surface beside it.
• Cutting in behind pipework, brackets and radiator valves.
• Fine lining on panelled doors and staircases.

Sizes

1 inch and 1.5 inch. The 1 inch is genuinely small, for glazing bars and the tightest work. The 1.5 covers most detail jobs and is the more generally useful of the two.

Firm filament, so it holds a line rather than following whatever surface it's dragged across. Hardwood handle.
