Storch Superpad Sanding Discs 225mm (Single)
Wall and ceiling sanders eat abrasive. The 225mm discs that fit them are a running cost rather than a one-off purchase — which is why these are sold singly rather than only by the box.
Available in P120, P150 and P180.
Where the grits land
- P120 — cutting back filler and levelling a wall that genuinely needs work.
- P150 — general preparation, and the most-used grade on most jobs.
- P180 — finishing before paint, and de-nibbing between coats.
On skimmed or filled walls, P150 is the sensible default: drop to P120 where there's real material to remove, step up to P180 where the finish will be seen under a sheen paint or strong side light.
Buying singly
Being able to buy one at a time is genuinely useful. A pole sander gets through discs unpredictably — one difficult ceiling can cost you several — and having the right grit to hand beats having a full box of the wrong one.
Getting the life out of them
Keep the extractor running. Dust is what clogs a disc, and a clogged disc stops cutting and starts burnishing — polishing the filler rather than flattening it, which is a problem you only discover once paint is on the wall.
Let the machine's weight do the work instead of pressing. Pressure loads the abrasive, generates heat and shortens disc life without removing any more material.
