Oldfields 9 Inch Pro Series Micro-Max Roller Sleeve

The 9 inch sleeve is the standard size for everyday decorating, and it fits any standard 9" frame you already own. Oldfields' Micro-Max fabric is a low-spatter, lint-free knit built to pick up and hold a lot of paint and then release it evenly — that is what gives a fine, uniform finish on walls and ceilings without tramlines or shedding into the film.

Choosing the nap. Stocked here in two lengths:

• 10mm — smooth to lightly textured surfaces. The general-purpose choice for plastered walls and ceilings.
• 15mm — semi-smooth and lightly textured surfaces. Holds more paint, so it covers faster and copes better with an open or patched surface.

Where it sits in the range. Nine inches is the right width for rooms that have something in them — doors, windows, sockets, radiators, kitchen units. The wider 14 inch and 18 inch Micro-Max sleeves cover more per pass, but they only earn that on long uninterrupted runs; on a cut-up wall a 9" is genuinely quicker, because you are not constantly stopping to work around obstacles.

Also worth knowing: designed for durability and maximum hold, so it stands up to being washed out and reused rather than being a one-job sleeve. Recommended for use with most paints on smooth to semi-smooth surfaces.

Fits any standard 9 inch roller frame.
