Osmo Natural Oil Exterior Wood & Decking Stain - 750ml
THE SIZE FOR FURNITURE, DOORS AND GATES
A penetrating oil finish for exterior timber. It sinks into the wood rather than sitting on it as a film, so it cannot crack, peel or flake — it simply thins with weathering and is refreshed with a single coat, no sanding back.
The 750ml tin suits the jobs most people actually have: a bench and table, a front gate, a shed door and frame, a porch, planters, trellis, or the outer face of window frames. Enough to finish the piece properly in two coats without leaving most of a 2.5L tin to skin over in the shed.
What 750ml covers
19.5 m² in one coat, or about 9–10 m² finished in the two coats bare timber needs — a large bench and table, a shed door with frame and architrave, or roughly three 1.8m fence panels on one face.
Halve that on rough-sawn or weathered timber. For a whole deck or a full fence line the 2.5L tin is much better value per square metre.
Before you order
- The colours are transparent — the timber underneath shifts the final shade, and it will not match the printed swatch. A 5ml tester is €3.99 and settles it.
- Pale tones give limited UV protection. Not the choice for timber in strong direct sun.
- Coat the underside and end grain too on furniture and gates — that is where water gets in and where finishes fail first.
- Pine, spruce, Douglas fir, Accoya® and Kebony® need WR Base Coat first. Cedar, teak, mahogany and other oily hardwoods need roughly 12 weeks weathering, then de-greying with Wood Reviver Power Gel.
- Apply thinly — over-application is what leaves a finish tacky.
At a glance

- Drying: 4–6 hours between coats, 12 hours after the last.
- Apply with: brush or microfibre roller. Clean up with brush cleaner or white spirit.
- Exterior only — contains biocides.
