Mirka Autonet Sanding Discs 125mm (50 Pack)
Refinishing punishes an abrasive differently to decorating. Fresh primer and soft paint load a disc fast, and once it loads it stops cutting and starts burnishing.
The Mirka Autonet Sanding Discs 125mm are the line Mirka developed for automotive refinishing. The net is a blend of polyamide and polyester thread rather than polyamide alone, and the extraction pulls through the full face of it, which is what keeps the grain cutting instead of filling.
Grits stocked
Seven, and the range is weighted to the fine end because that is where refinishing work lives: P80, P120, P180, P240, P320, P400 and P500. The coarse two are for stripping and filler; from P240 up you are preparing and flatting paint.
Which machine
125mm is the DEROS 550 pad size, and the DEROS 5650 takes both 125 and 150mm. Check which plate is on your machine before you order, because the two sizes are not interchangeable and the 150mm disc will overhang a 125mm pad.
Autonet or Abranet
Both are net, both extract through the face, and they are not the same product. Autonet is Mirka's refinishing line. Abranet is the one they range for putty, primers and lacquers, which is the decorating side of the counter. If you are working on a car or a boat, this is the one.
