Mirka Abranet Sanding Strips 81x133mm (50 Pack)
A rectangular plate lets you work a straight run and come right up to a line, which is where most of the time goes on a flush door, a window board or a run of skirting.
The Mirka Abranet Sanding Strips 81x133mm are the net abrasive for the DEOS 353, Mirka's 81 by 133mm machine, on their 54 hole extraction pattern. Net rather than paper, so the extraction pulls through the whole face of the strip instead of only at punched holes.
The grit ladder, and it is a long one
This is the widest range we stock in any Abranet format, P80 right through to P600. It means one abrasive takes you from knocking back proud filler to denibbing between topcoats without swapping to a different product halfway up.
- P80 and P120: filler, and the first flattening pass.
- P180 and P240: refining, then a paint-ready key.
- P320 and finer: denibbing after primer and between coats, where the job is to take the nibs off and nothing else.
Working with it
Run a pad saver under the strip. It is a thin sacrificial layer, and it is what stops the back of the abrasive sanding the hook and loop off the machine pad, which is what usually kills a pad long before the machine gives up. Mirka also make a 54 hole interface in this size, which is foam and does the other job: softening the cut so the abrasive follows a profile.
Which line this is
Abranet is the line Mirka range for putty, primers and lacquers. If the work is automotive paint, Autonet is the line they developed for refinishing and it is the better pick.
