Sold in Matt and Silk. The finishes are labelled differently, so each is given.
Matt finish
Not classified as hazardous under CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. No hazard pictogram or signal word applies. The label carries the following statements:
- EUH208: Contains reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May produce an allergic reaction.
- EUH211: Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist.
Silk finish
Not classified as hazardous under CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. No hazard pictogram or signal word applies. The label carries the following statements:
- EUH208: Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one. May produce an allergic reaction.
- EUH211: Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist.

A hallway in a busy house gets washed, not repainted. So does a stairwell in a rental, or a kitchen wall behind the bin. Wash a soft matt and you get a burnished patch where the cloth went — that is what a genuinely durable matt has to survive.
Juno Bikril survives it because it was designed for the outside of the building. It is certified under EN 1504-2 as a surface protection system for concrete: a façade coating that Juno also passes for interior use. Sold in Matt and Silk — Juno's own data sheet calls the Silk an eggshell finish with a silky touch.
Where the durability shows
- Hallways, stairwells and landings — excellent washability on an acryl-vinyl film that stays flexible instead of going brittle, so it resists cracking, peeling and flaking.
- Kitchens and bathrooms — Class I water vapour permeability keeps the wall breathing while the anti-mould agent in the tin handles the condensation.
- Schools, offices, apartment blocks and rental stock — B-s1, d0 fire classification under UNE 13501-1, the property Juno itself cites for interior use and often the box a specification needs ticked.
- Render, pebbledash, roughcast, brick and concrete outside — the original job. Impermeable to liquid water at w < 0.1 kg/m²·h0.5, anti-carbonation at SD > 50 m, pull-off adhesion above 1.0 N/mm², and UV-stable colours off the Bikril/Luna chart.
Coverage and coats
10 to 12 m² per litre per coat is Juno's average observed figure, and surface texture and porosity move it. Juno specifies two coats minimum, so the 4L tin finishes roughly 20–24 m² and the 15L roughly 75–90 m². Bare render, pebbledash and anything porous take noticeably more — halve it and you will not be far off on rough exterior work.
Touch dry in 30 minutes and recoatable from 6 hours, so two coats in a working day. Thin up to 10% with water, apply by brush, roller or spray, wash out with soapy water. VOC content is 30 g/L maximum. Tinting is JUNOMATIC only, from whites and pastels through deep colours to the strongest shades.
Priming
Over sound existing paint it goes on direct. Bare plaster or a powdery interior wall takes a coat of Hidrocril; bare render, concrete or masonry outside takes Primerlite. New cement, concrete or render must be fully set — Juno says a month minimum — and existing gloss or satin needs flatting off or the film will not key.
What it will not do
It will not go on below 5°C, above 80% relative humidity, or with rain or strong wind coming. Outside, that last one bites: get Bikril wet before it has dried through and the film partly redissolves, drying streaked — the marks painters call snail tracks. Indoors none of that applies.
