Decotric Paint Mixing Bucket Lid 20L

The Decotric Paint Mixing Bucket Lid covers a part-used mixing bucket between coats, in the van and overnight, so sanding dust, grit off the floor and splashes stay out of the material. It is sold on its own, as the cover for the Decotric Paint Mixing Bucket 20L.

What it's for

Decotric list the matching bucket for four jobs, and the lid covers the same work: wallpapering, gluing, filling and painting. So it goes over made-up paste while you move between rooms, over adhesive you are working out of in small amounts, over mixed filler or plaster while the first pass goes off, and over boxed or decanted paint between coats.

Getting a clean cover

Scrape the sides of the bucket down into the mix and wipe the rim before the lid goes on. Dried material left on the rim breaks off into the mix the next time the lid comes away, which is how grit ends up in paint that was covered the whole time.

If the mix has to be usable the following morning, lay cling film flat onto the surface of the material and fit the lid over the top. The lid keeps the dirt out, the film is what stops a skin forming.
