Decotric Uni-Fix Solvent Free Quick Adhesive 250g
Small indoor repairs rarely come in one material. A lifted wallpaper seam, a polystyrene coving offcut, a loose PVC trim and a torn fabric edge are four jobs on the same snag list, and four part-used tubes to cover them.
The Decotric Uni-Fix Solvent Free Quick Adhesive 250g, which Decotric sell as Power Uni-Fix, is a universal repair glue for indoor repairs and craft work, supplied ready to spread. It is a water-based vinyl acetate ethylene emulsion with additives, solvent-free, pH 7 to 8, density 1.07 g/cm³. It dries transparent, so a bead that shows at an edge does not announce itself as a repair.
Materials Decotric name
Decotric list these among others, not as a closed set.
- Wallpaper: seams, edges and patch repairs. It is a repair glue, not a wallpaper paste.
- Textiles: fabric edges and trims.
- Foam polystyrene: coving, mouldings and offcuts.
- PVC: trims and profiles.
- Cardboard and paper: craft work and paper repairs.
The five minutes that matter
Nothing to mix and nothing to thin. Spread it evenly straight from the tube, leave it to air dry for five minutes, then press the two parts together. Those five minutes are the published instruction, not a suggestion, and the step most likely to get rushed.
The surface has to be firm, absorbent and free of dust. Any glue that squeezes out at the edge comes off with a damp cloth there and then. Full drying is roughly three hours, depending on room temperature and the surface.
Where it stops
Decotric publish this for indoor repairs and craft work, and publish no exterior use for it. Do not use it if the surface or the room is below +5 degrees Celsius, so a cold room needs heat first. Store the tube somewhere cool with the cap firmly closed.
