Boldrini Roller Frame 30cm
Plaster rollers wear out. The handle does not.
The Boldrini Roller Frame 30cm is the frame from Boldrini's wide plaster roller — the part you keep when the sleeve is finished. It carries Boldrini's 30cm filler and putty roller sleeves.
This is not a paint roller frame. The sleeve that goes on it is a structural nylon roller built to carry filler, putty and plaster onto a wall, not paint.
What the system does
A 30cm plaster roller lays compound across a wall or ceiling far faster than a trowel and leaves an even base coat, which you then flatten and finish with a spatula. It takes both powder and ready-mixed compound.
At this width it is the covering tool in the system: the 30cm does the open surface, a narrow seam roller does the joints, and a corner roller does the internal angles.
Why the frame is sold on its own
- Sleeves are consumable. A wide sleeve carries a lot of compound and eventually gives up; the frame outlasts several.
- A second frame saves a wash-out when you change compound partway through a run.
- Replacement for one that has set solid because a sleeve was left on it overnight.
Working with it
Wash it out the moment you stop. Filler cures on a frame far faster than paint does, and a bow with compound set into it never takes a sleeve cleanly again. That is what kills most plaster roller frames, not wear.
