Blue Dolphin Palm Sanding Kit
The Palm Sanding Tool is shaped to sit in the palm rather than be gripped like a block, so your weight goes straight down through the hand onto the work. That is what makes it the better tool on the awkward stuff — trim, mouldings, window sills, stair treads, handrails, decking and cladding, where you are working a narrow surface and need control more than coverage.
Why the foam matters. The high-density foam body has enough firmness to cut and enough give to follow a contour, so it keeps contact on a moulding or a rounded edge instead of skating across the high points the way a rigid block does.
Changing the paper. The face is hook and loop, so sheets pull off and press on without clips or folding. Refill packs are sold separately and contain 10 sheets.
Palm or hand? They are different tools for different work, not two sizes of the same thing:
- Palm — shaped for pressure and control on trim, mouldings, sills, stairs and decking. The matching refills run coarser, 60 to 120 grit, which suits exterior work and heavier removal.
- Hand — the flat block shape, for flatting filler and jointing compound on walls and ceilings. Its refills run finer, 80 to 150 grit.
