ProDec 4 Step Easy-Fold Step Ladder
A four-tread fold-flat step for the jobs that keep you at ceiling height all day — cutting in, coving, taping, changing a fitting — and then need to go back in the van without taking up a wall.
The ProDec 4 Step Easy-Fold Step Ladder is a powder-coated tubular steel frame rated to 150kg and built to EN 14183. It weighs under 8.5kg and folds to under 2.5 inches deep.
The number that matters
The top tread sits at 92cm (3ft). That is the figure to price a job against — not an advertised “working height”, which is a reach estimate and varies with who is standing on it. Measure from 92cm and you will know whether it gets you there.
Standing on it all day
- Extra-wide treads with an anti-slip surface and a ribbed underside — the ribbing is structural as well as grippy, which is what keeps a wide tread from flexing.
- Full-height handrail, so you have something to lean into when both hands are on a brush or a roller pole.
- Anti-slip feet on all four legs.
- Powder-coated steel rather than aluminium — heavier to carry, but it stays where you put it and shrugs off knocks in a van.
What it is not
EN 14183 is the step stool standard, not the EN 131 ladder standard. If you are working to a site specification that calls for EN 131 Professional access equipment, this is not the product for it. It is also a level-ground tool — steel legs on an uneven floor are no steadier than any other steps.
