Pioneer Steel Twist Screw & Push Fit Extension Pole
An extension pole is the cheapest way to stop climbing. It's also the difference between rolling a ceiling from the floor and spending the day shifting a hop-up.
This is a 1–2 metre twist-lock pole with both screw-fit and push-fit tips.
The two fittings
Most decorating tools use one of two systems. Threaded tools — rollers, sanding heads, seam rollers — screw on. Others push over a plain tip.
Having both means the pole works across your existing kit rather than only with whatever it was sold beside, which is where a lot of cheap poles quietly disappoint.
Twist lock
Twist to release, extend, twist to lock. No clips or buttons to jam with dried paint, and infinitely adjustable within the range rather than fixed at set lengths — which matters when you're setting the pole to one ceiling height and want the roller sitting flat to the surface.
What 1–2m gets you
Standard domestic ceilings from the floor, stairwell walls without a ladder, and the top of a wall without over-reaching.
For anything higher, buy a longer pole rather than running this one at full extension. A pole worked at its limit flexes, and flex shows up as uneven pressure on the roller.
An economy pole, honestly
Lightweight and durable for the money, but not a heavy-duty pole. For daily trade use with a loaded 18 inch roller, a heavier pole with a stronger lock is the better investment. For everything else, this does the job at a third of the price.
