Decotric Cera Fix Tile Joint Repair 400g
A few crumbled or washed out joints behind a basin do not justify re-grouting the whole wall. The Decotric Cera Fix Tile Joint Repair 400g tube refills the damaged runs, pressed straight from the tube with no mixing.
Decotric sell it as Power Cera-Fix. It is a white joint filler for ceramic and glass tiles and mosaics on walls, supplied at working consistency. Decotric state it is water resistant once dry, so it suits kitchens and bathrooms, and that it sets without cracking. White is the only shade they list.
Refilling a joint
Scrape the loose material out of the joints first. The joints being repaired have to be dry, stable and free of parting compounds such as dust, grease and soap residue. Knead the tube well before each use, press the filler into the damaged places and take the surplus off carefully with a rubber spatula. The joint has to be filled without any gaps.
The detail that catches people out is the clean down. Wipe the tile faces with a damp cloth or sponge before the filler has dried through, not after it has set. Porous, matt and unglazed tiles have to be masked off first with adhesive tape.
