Caparol Thermosan Self Cleaning Masonry Paint 7.5L - White
Facades rarely fail because the paint wore out. They look tired because dirt, algae and staining build up on a surface that stays damp too long after rain. Caparol ThermoSan NQG is engineered around that specific problem.
NQG stands for Nano-Quartz Grid. Organically networked quartz structures cure into a dense, mineral-hard, three-dimensional lattice at the surface of the film, leaving very little for dirt to key into. What lands on the wall is carried off by rainfall rather than embedding itself into a softer binder.
The second half of the mechanism
The silicone resin binder makes the coating strongly rain-repellent while staying highly water-vapour permeable. Wind-driven rain beads and sheds; moisture from within the wall still escapes outward. Crucially, the surface dries quickly after rain and dew — and a facade that spends fewer hours wet gives algae and fungal growth far less chance to establish.
An encapsulated film preservative backs this up, protecting the coating itself against algal and fungal attack.
Technical
- Alkali-resistant and therefore unsaponifiable, so it can go over fresh mineral backgrounds that would attack a conventional binder.
- High CO₂ permeability, allowing natural carbonation of the substrate to continue.
- Substrates: synthetic resin, silicone resin, lime and lime-cement plasters; mineral and dispersion-bound renders, coated or uncoated; and common ETICS insulation finishes.
- Tinting: up to 20% addition with AmphiColor tinting colours.
This is the 7.5 litre tin — the practical size for a single elevation, a gable end, or a domestic re-coat where 12.5 litres would leave you with part of a tin on the shelf. Also available in 12.5 litre.
