How it stays clean
NQG is Caparol's Nano-Quartz Grid: organically networked quartz structures that cure into a dense, mineral-hard, three-dimensional lattice through the surface of the film. Conventional facade paints rely on a binder that softens slightly under summer heat and takes airborne dirt into itself. The nano-quartz matrix doesn't. It presents a hard mineral face that dirt sits on rather than sinks into, and rain carries it off.
How it stays free of algae
The silicone resin binder pairs strong rain repellency with high water-vapour permeability. Driven rain sheds; moisture held in the structure still escapes outward. The surface therefore dries rapidly after rain and dew — and cutting the hours a wall spends wet is the single most effective way to suppress algal and fungal growth. An encapsulated preservative in the film gives a second line of defence.
Suitability
- ETICS and external wall insulation finishing coats.
- Synthetic resin, silicone resin, lime and lime-cement plasters.
- Mineral and dispersion-bound renders, previously coated or bare.
Technical notes
Alkali-resistant and unsaponifiable, so it will go over fresh mineral backgrounds that would saponify a conventional oil-modified binder. Highly CO₂-permeable. Tintable to a maximum 20% addition with AmphiColor tinting colours.
This is the 12.5 litre tin, sized for full elevations and multi-property contracts. Also available in 7.5 litre for smaller work.
