A telescopic ladder solves a storage problem rather than a climbing one. For decorators working out of a car or a small van, or in occupied houses where a full extension ladder simply won't come through a hallway, collapsing 3.8 metres of ladder down to something you can carry in one hand is what makes the job workable.
This is a 3.8 metre telescopic ladder, supplied with a carry bag.
Where it fits the work
- Gutter, fascia and soffit work on a standard two-storey house, and access to first-floor windows for exterior painting.
- Stairwells and high internal ceilings, where the ladder has to come through a front door and up a flight of stairs before it's any use.

Using a telescopic ladder well
Extend it to the height you actually need rather than to full length by default. A shorter working length is more rigid, easier to place and easier to move.
Check that every section has locked before you put weight on it, and extend and retract with the ladder vertical and your hands clear of the rung ends.
Keep the sections clean. Grit in the mechanism is the single most common cause of a telescopic ladder that starts binding or fails to lock cleanly — and it's entirely preventable. The bag is there for that reason as much as for carrying it.
