Throat Seal Oil 500ml
The most expensive part of an airless sprayer is the pump, and what kills pumps is dried paint on the piston rod cutting into the packings.
Throat seal liquid is what prevents that. It sits in the wet cup at the top of the packing nut, keeps the rod lubricated as it strokes, and stops material drying where the rod passes through the seals.
Why it matters more than it looks
Packings are a wear item, but they should wear out over years, not months. What shortens their life is abrasion — dried paint on the rod acting like fine grit on every single stroke.
Once the packings score, the pump leaks past them, pressure goes inconsistent, and you're into a repack kit and a day without a machine.
Using it
- Top up the wet cup before every use — about a third full, not brimming.
- Check it during long days. It gets carried away on the rod and needs replacing.
- Fill it before storage too, particularly if the machine is going to sit for weeks.
Not a substitute for flushing
Throat seal liquid protects the packings. It does not clean the machine. Flush properly at the end of every session regardless — they're separate jobs, and skipping either one eventually costs you a pump.
