Exposed to flame they decompose, release inert gases, and slow the charring of the timber underneath. Sold as a complete 2K kit — \u003cstrong\u003e5 kg Component A + 5 L Component B hardener\u003c\/strong\u003e, mixed 1:1.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eThe classification only holds as a system\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClassification report CR-09.2025-1 (BM Certification, EN 13501-1:2018) certifies \u003cstrong\u003eB-s1,d0\u003c\/strong\u003e for this basecoat \u003cstrong\u003etogether with Amotherm Wood 450 SB Topcoat\u003c\/strong\u003e, applied at:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003e200 g\/m² of basecoat\u003c\/strong\u003e — or 300 g\/m² if you sand between basecoat and topcoat.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003e160 g\/m² of topcoat\u003c\/strong\u003e over it. Both coats, always — the basecoat alone is not the classified product.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOn wood-based substrates of \u003cstrong\u003eat least 680 kg\/m³ density and 12 mm thickness\u003c\/strong\u003e, fixed with no air gap behind, on walls and ceilings.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApply less, skip the topcoat, or put it on 9 mm ply, and you have an expensive varnish with no classification behind it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eHow much you need\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne kit gives roughly 10 kg of mixed basecoat. At 200 g\/m² that is \u003cstrong\u003eabout 50 m²\u003c\/strong\u003e; at the 300 g\/m² sanded rate, about 33 m². Pair each basecoat kit with one topcoat kit, which covers about 62 m² at 160 g\/m².\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWorking with it\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eSubstrate:\u003c\/strong\u003e raw wood, or wood with a non-film-forming primer. Not over wax or water-repellents. Moisture below 15%.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eMix:\u003c\/strong\u003e the fire-retardant solids settle in the tin — stir Component A right through with a paddle mixer before adding B. \u003cstrong\u003ePot life 90 minutes.\u003c\/strong\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eApply\u003c\/strong\u003e by airless (60–120 bar, 0.011–0.015 inch tip), conventional spray or curtain coater. A brush works but will not give the same finish.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eCoats:\u003c\/strong\u003e one or two to reach 200 g\/m², the second between 1 and 4 hours after the first. Topcoat within 8 hours without sanding, or after 12 hours with sanding.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eConditions:\u003c\/strong\u003e at least 10°C and below 60% humidity. Dust-dry in 30 minutes, through-dry in 12 hours.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDo not over-apply — a heavy coat clouds and turns white.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhat it is not\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInterior only as supplied — the outdoor hardener is not part of this kit. It gives \u003cstrong\u003eno UV protection and no biological protection\u003c\/strong\u003e; where either is needed, an impregnating primer goes on first.
